Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno has given his verdict on Callum Hudson-Odoi after the match against Bournemouth.

Hudson-Odoi, who joined Forest from Chelsea in the summer of 2023, scored in the Premier League game.

So, what has Nuno said about Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi? Let’s take a look.

Nuno praises Nottingham Forest winger Callum Hudson-Odoi

Well, Nottingham Forest were in action this past Sunday. Nuno’s side took on Bournemouth away from home in the Premier League.

The match ended in a 1-1 draw. Justin Kluivert prodded in at the far post from a corner to put Bournemouth 1-0 up in the fifth minute.

Callum Hudson-Odoi restored parity on the stroke of half time. The winger, who cost Forest £3 million in transfer fees when he joined from Premier League rivals Chelsea in the summer of 2023 (The Athletic), beat Ryan Christie and Illia Zabarnyi before bending a right-footed effort into the bottom corner.

The winger, though, was at the end of a challenge from Philip Billing in the 83rd minute for which the Bournemouth player was sent off.

After the match, Forest manager Nuno praised Hudson-Odoi and noted that the 23-year-old English winger, who was rated highly by Steve Cooper, is improving game by game.

Nuno told BBC Sport about Hudson-Odoi: “Callum [Hudson-Odoi] is improving game by game. He is showing what he can do. He did a pretty good job today.

“When I saw it – no doubts [about the red card]. It was a kick from behind. He is in a lot of pain. With a lot of respect, a kick from behind is not fair.”

My View: Keep faith in Callum Hudson-Odoi

Once upon a time, Callum Hudson-Odoi was linked with Bayern Munich. That shows the potential that he has.

True, things did not go according to plan for the winger at Chelsea, but he is still only 23. Hudson-Odoi is very young.

I believe that Hudson-Odoi will improve and develop further in the coming months and years. Nuno rates the winger highly, and I think that the English youngster could flourish under the former Tottenham Hotspur and Wolverhampton Wanderers manager.

Hudson-Odoi has scored two goals and given one assist in seven starts and seven substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest this season. He has also played three times in the FA Cup for the Reds, who signed Giovanni Reyna in the January transfer window.
