Paul Merson has given his prediction of the upcoming match between Nuno’s Nottingham Forest and Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.

The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit thinks that Morgan Gibbs-White could be the difference-maker in the Premier League match at the City Ground.

So, what has Paul Merson said about Nottingham Forest, Morgan Gibbs-White and Newcastle United? Let’s take a look.

Paul Merson outlines importance of Morgan Gibbs-White for Nottingham Forest vs Newcastle United

Well, Paul Merson has been looking ahead to the Premier League match between Nottingham Forest and Newcastle United.

Forest will lock horns with Newcastle at the City Ground in the Premier League on Saturday evening.

Former Aston Villa star Merson believes that Newcastle will pick up all three points from the encounter courtesy of a 2-1 win.

The Sky Sports, though, has noted that if Morgan Gibbs-White plays for Forest, then he could sway the game towards Nuno’s team.

Gibbs-White was in action for Forest against Bristol City in the FA Cup fourth-round replay on Wednesday.

The £25 million (Sky Sports) midfielder was ‘limping horribly” during the closing stages of the first half of the extra period, and it remains to be seen if the 24-year-old attacking midfielder is fit enough to start against Newcastle.

Merson told SportsKeeda: “Both these teams need to start winning games soon. I heard Morgan Gibbs-White might be injured, but strangely enough, he stayed on the whole time against Bristol City, so his involvement in the game could decide the outcome.

“Newcastle are becoming a bit like Brighton in the sense that they are hard to predict, but I think they’ll just nick this one on their travels.

“Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 Newcastle United.”

My View: Nottingham Forest need Morgan Gibbs-White

In my opinion, Nottingham Forest need Morgan Gibbs-White for the final weeks and months of the season.

Forest are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and I think that head coach Nuno needs Gibbs-White.

The 24-year-old attacking midfielder is one of the best and most important players for the Reds.

The former Wolverhampton Wanderers player has made 20 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Forest this season. He has scored two goals and given three assists in those games.
