Ian Wright has criticised Nottingham Forest head coach Nuno Espirito Santo for one decision he made yesterday.
The pundit was speaking on Match of the Day last night.
So, what did Wright say about Forest head coach Espirito Santo? Let’s take a closer look…
What Ian Wright said about Forest boss Nuno Espirito Santo
Well, it would appear that Wright simply didn’t grasp one decision that Espirito Santo made.
The Forest head coach made the call to start Moussa Niakhate at left-back instead of Harry Toffolo.
Nuno Tavares was ruled out through injury and the Forest head coach made the call to go with an unnatural replacement.
Wright believes that Forest head coach Espirito Santo got it wrong and said as much last night.

He told Match of the Day: “I thought it was a very strange decision. Espirito Santo chose not to play Harry Toffolo at left-back and went with Moussa Niakhate who is a centre-back. That was just strange.”
Forest fell to a 4-2 defeat at Villa Park after a comical start that saw the Reds fall 3-0 behind.
The second half saw the Reds respond but as Morgan Gibbs-White said, it was the start that cost Forest.
Wright is spot on about Forest decision
In our view, it’s hard not to agree with Wright and with the luxury of hindsight, Toffolo should have played for Forest.
Espirito Santo is still learning with this Forest squad and he will have hopefully learned from that mistake yesterday.
Toffolo has been largely impressive when he’s played for Forest and playing him yesterday might have seen things pan out differently.
Wright’s point is accurate though and ultimately, Forest paid the price for picking Niakhate out of position.
Espirito Santo has to learn from this and hopefully, the Forest boss can get it right going forward and not pick the Senegalese star at left-back once again.
