Ian Wright believes that Nottingham Forest defender Moussa Niakhate got completely outplayed by Aston Villa at the weekend.
The pundit made the claim on Wrighty’s House Podcast.
So, what did Wright have to say about Forest defender Niakhate? Let’s take a closer look…
What Ian Wright said about Forest star Moussa Niakhate
Well, it would appear as though this opinion is a pretty popular one in truth and it was a call that didn’t work.
Forest defender Niakhate was handed the call at left-back with Nuno Tavares now injured for a few weeks.
It was a decision that royally backfired with Villa scoring three goals in the first half all down that side of the pitch.
Wright felt it was a bad day at the office for the player and he criticised him on his latest show.

He told the Wrighty’s House Podcast: “They had a left-back on the bench in Toffollo and then Forest played Niakhate there.
“He got completely cooked. They stewed him, braised him, underground ovened him. They had his number!”
Wright spot on about Niakhate
It’s a shame for Niakhate and it probably caps a pretty rubbish few weeks for the Forest player does this performance.
First, he missed a penalty that saw Senegal dumped out of the African Cup of Nations by the Ivory Coast.
Then upon returning to Forest he’s had to fight for his place and for the last couple of games, he’s wanted Murillo and Felipe form a partnership.
Andrew Omobamidele has also played ahead of him since he returned from AFCON duties and he’d have been desperate to perform on Saturday.
In fairness, Niakhate did improve in the second half when he returned to centre-back and Forest almost snatched something from the game.
However, the decision to play him as a left-back looks like a bad one in hindsight and Nuno Espirito Santo will have to learn from that call.
