David Prutton has critiqued Nottingham Forest star Moussa Niakhate for his performance against Aston Villa on Saturday.
The former midfielder and Sky Sports anchor has been speaking to the Forest Focus podcast.
So, what has Prutton said about Niakhate after his latest Forest display? Let’s take a closer look…
What David Prutton has said about Forest star Moussa Niakhate
Well, it would appear as though Prutton has joined the host of pundits to express concern over Niakhate.
The 27-year-old was handed a surprise call to play left-back with Nuno Tavares ruled out through injury.
Prutton did criticise the defender but also suggested that he felt a little bit sorry for the Forest defender.
He told the Forest Focus podcast: “We’ll talk about Niakhate, bless him. It was one of those games where everything is almost coming at you in a blur.

“He looked like he didn’t know where he was at all compared to everyone else.
“Whether that’s a communication thing, I don’t know.”
Niakhate will learn from tough afternoon
In truth, it was a bittersweet afternoon for the Forest performer, with the player netting his first goal for the Reds.
Niakhate scored on the stroke of half-time to hand Forest a small lifeline going into half-time.
However, his defending in the first period whilst operating at left-back simply wasn’t good enough.
In our view, playing Niakhate as a left-back just isn’t ideal and his qualities are better utilised as a centre-back.
Prutton made a fair appraisal of Niakhate and he will hope to bounce back from his latest Forest performance.
Niakhate has endured a rotten few weeks on the international stage and back at Forest.
In fairness, playing the central defender has a left-back did backfire but surely Nuno Espirito Santo will park this experience in the future.
