A report has explained what the Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis actually said after a 1-0 defeat to Liverpool.

The owner was incensed and now The Athletic have explained what he said.

So, what left Marinakis so upset after the Forest result yesterday? Let’s take a closer look…

What Evangelos Marinakis said after Forest lost to Liverpool

Well, the owner wasn’t very happy and he marched down to the pitch to try and confront the match officials following the game.

Forest had just seen Darwin Nunez score in the ninth minute of time added on and it left the owner pretty disgruntled.

The Athletic has now claimed that Marinakis was seen saying, ‘Every week, every week’, whilst he was down at pitchside.

It’s a nod towards the barrage of poor decisions that Forest have been forced to withstand in recent weeks.

Several decisions have gone against Forest in the last few matches and it simply won’t do.

Marinakis must avoid getting the club in hot water

To a certain degree, it’s good that Forest aren’t accepting these decisions lightly. However, they must do things in the right manner.

Forest don’t want to give officials any excuse to not give them decisions in the future – and it feels a little suspicious at the moment.

Okay, Forest can do things better to look after their own form themselves but yesterday, it was scandalous they didn’t take anything from the game.

Forest owner Marinakis isn’t backwards in coming forwards and it remains to be seen if he will face any sanction from yesterday.

The owner has the prerogative to do whatever he wants after a defeat but we all know officials are protected.

After an incident like yesterday, it would be ideal if the officials could come out and clear up the decision.

Tierney’s name is now mud at the City Ground and he’s unlikely to be back at the club any time soon.
