Nottingham Forest signed Callum Hudson-Odoi against the odds in the summer and on Saturday, he showcased what a bargain signing he’s proving.

Forest might have been beaten 1-0 by Liverpool but that was largely down to the ineptitude of Paul Tierney than anything that Nuno Espirito Santo’s team did.

Hudson-Odoi is enjoying a run of games at Forest under the new head coach. On Saturday, he was brilliant and some statistics have now emerged regarding his performance…

Callum Hudson-Odoi stats showcase Forest quality

It’s taken some time for Hudson-Odoi to get going at Forest since his £3 million move from Chelsea.

Over the last month, however, he’s looked fit, sharp and crucially has started to fire in front of the goal.

In February, he scored three times in just four appearances in the Premier League and he now has four for the campaign to go with three assists.

Now, some statistics have emerged from The Other 14 on Twitter that show just how brilliant Hudson-Odoi was as Forest lost to Liverpool.

With six successful dribbles during his 90 minutes on the pitch, he was the most successful player in the Premier League using that metric.

He came out ahead of Bernardo Silva who completed five, with a host of players completing four.

Forest have a gem if winger hits top form again

Given the bargain fee that Forest paid, signing the winger was always a risk worth taking.

During his time at Chelsea, he was linked with massive clubs and it was always his ability to glide past defenders that caught the eye.

Ever since an Achilles injury that Hudson-Odoi sustained at Chelsea, he’s not quite been the same player – and he’s missed some games through injury with Forest.

Now, however, Hudson-Odoi looks – touch wood – to be enjoying an injury-free run in the team under a manager who has clearly placed his trust in him.

Forest will still hope that there is more to come from Hudson-Odoi but these statistics showcase that he’s definitely on the right track.
