TalkSPORT reporter Paul Hawksbee has now made an intriguing claim about Nottingham Forest live on air this afternoon.
This comes after Forest were deducted four points for their breach of FFP regulations. The Reds are now 18th in the Premier League – one point from safety.
So, what has Hawksbee said that is bound to catch the eye of the Forest supporters? Let’s take a closer look…
What Paul Hawksbee has said about Nottingham Forest situation
Well, the end is in sight for Forest at least and the four-point deduction does at least offer a little bit of closure – although Evangelos Marinakis does plan to appeal.
However, Hawksbee has heard a rumour about a potential appeal and if what he’s saying is true, then Forest will surely have to think twice.

He told TalkSPORT: “There is a strong rumour, and it may or may not be true and remains to be confirmed, it is only a rumour at the moment but if they do appeal they will get deducted a further two points if they do appeal.”
In our view, this can’t be true. Everton have appealed their 10-point deduction and will likely appeal should they lose any more points amid another charge.
Hawksbee comments simply has to be rumour
If this was the case the Premier League really would be guilty of making it up as they go along.
Everton appealed and got two four points back and clubs have to get the right to appeal the decision if they’re not happy with it.
Forest must now carefully decide their next option and if what Hawksbee has heard is true then appealing could cost the club their Premier League place.
Now, Forest do at least have a little bit of closure and with the clouds no longer above their heads they must simply focus on getting points on the board.
