A report has this afternoon explained how Evangelos Marinakis is feeling after Nottingham Forest were handed a four-point deduction.

The Reds have been plunged into the relegation zone and now sit a point behind Luton in 18th place.

So, how has Forest owner Marinakis taken this news – and will the club be planning to appeal? Let’s take a closer look…

How Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis is feeling after points deduction

Well, it would appear as though the Forest chief is incensed at the outcome and you can bet your bottom dollar that the club will be appealing.

According to The Telegraph, Forest owner Marinakis is understood to be furious with the Premier League and Richard Masters.

It was Masters who called Forest – and Everton – ‘small clubs’ earlier this season and it does appear as though an example is being made.

Marinakis is keen to appeal and will be getting the ball rolling on that, with the deadline set for 15th April for any verdict on that.

It’s not clear at this stage whether or not Forest will be successful but earlier this season Everton had their deductions points reduced from 10 to six on appeal.

Marinakis is on the war path with the Premier League

Hopefully, this does at least give Nuno Espirito Santo and his team some sort of closure and now the emphasis must be placed on the football.

Forest are within touching distance of Luton still and therefore will fancy their chances of staying in the Premier League.

If the Reds are to do the unthinkable and remain in the league they have to focus on where they’ve gone wrong this season.

Forest have conceded 19 goals from set pieces and have also thrown 21 points away from winning positions.

That simply won’t do between now and the end of the season and the Forest team must let Marinakis take care of the league and Masters, whilst they focus on winning football matches.

It remains to be seen what will happen in the next few weeks and now Forest will hope for points back on appeal much like Everton did.
