Forest considering new deal for Willy Boly

According to a report by The Telegraph, Forest are now thinking about offering Willy Boly a new deal with his deal set to expire in June.

The £2m defender is not alone in this department with the likes of Felipe, Cheikhou Kouyate, Wayne Hennessey and Harry Arter all set to become free agents.

It is suggested in the report Ola Aina is set to have his contract extended as Forest look to retain some of their players ahead of an uncertain few months.

Forest have already been docked points for breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Rules.

What Alan Shearer said about Willy Boly

It has been a turbulent campaign for the 33-year-old who has missed a number of games for Forest through various reasons.

Boly has racked up 16 appearances in the Premier League for Forest with 14 coming from the starting XI.

However, his game time has been hindered by injury, international duty at the Africa Cup of Nations and suspension.

But he is a player who has been widely praised this season with BBC Sport pundit Alan Shearer lauding him earlier in the campaign.

Shearer hailed his display against Chelsea: “Used his experience to frustrate Chelsea. Marshalled his team really well.”

Whether Forest can survive the drop following their points deduction is yet to be seen, but they have plenty of opportunities to put things right.

But if the worst does come to reality and they are to go down, having Boly at the club could be a useful decision.

The Ivorian has already got his hands on the Championship title during his time at Wolves.

And this could be exactly the type of player Forest could need if they are to find themselves back in the second tier.
