Nottingham Forest have now set their valuation on one of their star players ahead of the summer transfer window.

Concerns over their need to raise funds ahead of 30 June could see Forest part with some of their prized assets.

But it seems Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are not willing to accept any lowball offers over the coming months as they adopt a tougher stance.

Forest set huge valuation on Murillo

According to The Telegraph, Forest believe Murillo could eventually be worth up to £70m having purchased him for just £11m.

Forest could now be forced into selling some of their valuable assets in the summer, but they will be looking for more than what they sold Brennan Johnson for last year.

Tottenham Hotspur snapped up the 22-year-old for £47.5m and Forest are thought to value Morgan Gibbs-White and Murillo higher.

As they do not feel any pressure to accept lowball offers, Forest will demand in excess of £50m for the pair if clubs share their interest.

What Nuno has said recently about Murillo

The 21-year-old has now played 23 times for Forest in the Premier League this season where he has provided one assist.

Murillo only signed last summer from Corinthians where he came through the club’s youth system.

He has instantly become a regular in the Forest side having started all 23 of his league appearances for the club.

But his manager has recently demanded more from the 21-year-old defender who he feels needs to continue improving.

“Murillo has a lot of quality. He’s a very quick defender, he’s well built, but I don’t just look at the good things,” he said.

“It’s not that he gets excited, it’s his characteristics, he feels comfortable sometimes making certain decisions, which I consider should be taken in another part of the field… in defensive terms, we should be more practical.”

Given the Forest boss is demanding more from his defender, it seems the £70m valuation may only be met over the coming years if Forest remain afloat.

And even still, it would take some impressive displays from the centre-back to work his way up to some of the levels set by some Premier League defenders.

Of course, Forest see the potential in Murillo, but it could also be a ploy to scare clubs off ahead of the summer window.
