Nottingham Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo has hit back after what he was asked in his latest press conference.
Going into the weekend, Forest find themselves in the bottom three having been handed a four point deduction.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s men will have the opportunity to potentially pull themselves out of the drop zone today with a game at the City Ground.
However, he has warned that the club are not even going to think about the summer transfer window until they have secured Premier League safety.
What Nuno said about potential player departures
A number of Forest’s top players are already being linked with a potential exit from the City Ground ahead of the summer.
It has certainly been a difficult few weeks for Forest having fallen short financially which has cost them dearly with a four point deduction.
And now it has been suggested they could look to replicate Brennan Johnson’s summer sale to Tottenham Hotspur.
The likes of Murillo has been claimed to have had a potential valuation of £70m put on him by Forest.
But the Forest manager has admitted the club will not even assess player transfers until their fate is sealed.
He said: “That’s not even an issue for us. The situation we are in we are not going to start thinking about the transfer of players. It’s absurd and a mistake. We don’t think about that at all.”
Who could leave Forest in the summer?
Murillo is certainly a name which has been thrown out there as a potential sale for Forest to bring in some serious money.
But he is not the only player who Forest could look to offload over the summer.
Midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White is believed to be a player who is already attracting a lot of attention from some of the league’s biggest clubs.
It is said both Tottenham and West Ham United are just two of the potential landing spots for the 24-year-old over the coming months.
The north London side already have a good relationship with Forest following their acquisition of Johnson last summer.
Ironically, Forest’s recent financial frustrations with the Premier League saw the current Tottenham winger at the centre of Forest’s defence.
Forest held strong to bring in more money for the Welshman, but they were forced to wait until deadline day to see his sale confirmed.
This summer, if Forest are to offload someone like Gibbs-White, it is said they would be looking for a figure higher than what they got for Johnson.
