Nottingham Forest star Danilo has seriously caught the eye in recent weeks and now a big call must be made regarding the Brazilian.

The Reds have tried desperately to claim victories in the Premier League but their status in the division is still firmly in question.

Forest have just a point more than Luton who occupy the last place in the drop zone and it’s now the time for action.

Danilo has come into the team to add some flair to the midfield ranks and against Wolves last weekend he scored an important goal.

In fairness to the Brazilian, since he came to the club he’s brought something to the team and Danilo cost a measly £16 million from Palmeiras.

However, On Saturday, something was evident that must surely be offering Nuno Espirito Santo some food for thought on Danilo and now the boss needs to make a big call.

Danilo position should be tweaked by Forest boss Espirito Santo

On Saturday, against Wolves, Danilo scored and his goal showcased what a menace he can be in attacking areas of the pitch.

He has looked far more effective in recent weeks when he’s linked up with Morgan Gibbs-White and it’s not really his game to be playing in a deep-lying role.

Danilo definitely has a role to play in the team but when he’s asked to defend, it’s not something that comes as second nature to him.

Instead, the player likes to aid with attacks and help Forest carve out chances to score in the final third.

Last season, around this time of the season, Danilo went on a run of three games where he scored in every one.

With Forest fighting for their lives in the Premier League, Espirito Santo would love it if he could find the way to goal once again.

Danilo has linked up well with Gibbs-White in recent weeks and now it’s time for the gaffer to make this call for the greater good of the team.

Forest have to ditch another City Ground star

As we talk about Danilo, one man’s position in the team is coming under increasing scrutiny at the Forest and it’s Ryan Yates.

He was poor last weekend against Forest and had a hand in Wolves opening the scoring on Trentside.

The week previous he was very ordinary away at Tottenham and as Garry Birtles says, Yates just slows everything down for Forest.

One reason why Danilo has to keep getting back is that Yates hasn’t really proven yet that he’s got what it takes to become an accomplished Premier League midfielder.

We believe that Nicolas Dominguez should come into the fray this weekend but Ibrahim Sangare is also waiting patiently.

If either of those players do step into the breach for Forest this weekend it could allow Danilo even more license to get forward.

That can only help Forest and it’s a decision that Espirito Santo must seriously consider ahead of the weekend.
