Noel Gallagher has now shared what he thinks of the City Ground after visiting Nottingham Forest last season.

The 57-year-old travelled to the home of Nottingham Forest last season when Manchester City took on Nuno Espirito Santo‘s Reds in April, a match which ended 2-0 to Pep Guardiola’s side.

So, what did Noel Gallagher think of the City Ground? Let’s take a look…

What Noel Gallagher thought of the City Ground

The world famous musician recently sat down with The Athletic to discuss all things Manchester City.

Gallagher’s initial comments on the City Ground were not used in the original article, although a new piece from The Athletic – which focuses on incoming stadium changes implemented by Evangelos Marinakis – has now shared the Mancunian’s thoughts.

It is said that Gallagher described the City Ground as “a throwback to the old days” and also likened it to Everton’s “old school” Goodison Park – a venue which the Toffees are actually set to move away from shortly.

By the sounds of it, the former Oasis star enjoyed his trip to Nottingham Forest’s iconic stadium.

Unfortunately, these historic grounds are becoming few and far between, as many clubs – such as the aforementioned Everton – are choosing to move into newer, modernised stadiums.

Nottingham Forest could also move

Amid a very public argument with the Nottingham City Council – who want the Reds to pay £850,000 annually to lease the City Ground rather than the current £250,000 fee, according to The Athletic – Marinakis could take the Reds to Toton.

Supporters have already made it clear they would much prefer to stay at the City Ground, and The Athletic quote Tom Cartledge – Chairman of Nottingham Forest – as calling the venue a “forever home” for the Garibaldi.

However, with discussions ongoing between Nottingham Forest and the City Council, a move away from the City Ground still cannot be ruled out in future, as far as The Athletic are concerned anyway.
