One player linked with Nottingham Forest this summer can now be scrubbed off the shortlist after he signed for a new club this morning.
The Reds are working hard behind the scenes to try and bolster their squad this summer. So far, five new players have been signed – with others bound to follow.
Forest are still keen to land a striker and a winger and one of their attempts to land the former has fallen flat.
Taiwo Awoniyi is back with the Forest squad in Spain and Chris Wood scored 15 goals in all competitions during the 2023/24 campaign.
Now, the striker search continues, however, with one target signing for a new club in the last 24 hours.

Nottingham Forest-linked striker signs for new club
This one has come out of the blue somewhat but it’s been announced this morning that Che Adams has now signed for Torino on a free transfer.
The Serie A outfit have moved to sign the versatile forward ahead of Forest and Wolves who were both considering a move for Adams.
A striker by trade, Adams also played as part of a front three last season, whilst he can also operate in the hold as a number 10.
The 28-year-old scored 17 goals and claimed six assists last season as Southampton returned to the Premier League.
His record in the Premier League isn’t overly impressive, however, and he’s taken 124 appearances to find the net 25 times.
Now, Torino have signed Adams on a three-year contract to end weeks of speculation over his future.
Forest must go for better than Adams
Ultimately, Adams would have been nothing more than a squad player and it’s probably wise Forest have chosen not to sign him.
The Reds need to make sure they get their recruitment right this summer as the club looks to have a more successful season.
Adams would have been nothing more than a backup option and it’s fair to say that Awoniyi and Wood are both better than the forward.
Ally McCoist called him ‘terrific’ for his efforts when he first burst onto the scene with Scotland and he’s a big fan of the player.
Adams is a steady player but now the hope will be that Forest can focus on getting a striker with more potential to the club before the season starts.
