Nottingham Forest have been linked with a move for Paraguay international Ramon Sosa and a new update has emerged in the last few hours.

The Reds are once again leaving no stone turned in their quest to recruit the very best talent from South America.

Last summer it was Murillo and already during the current transfer window, Carlos Miguel – a 6ft 8in goalkeeper – has signed from Corinthians.

Now, Sosa is the name on the lips of Forest and things might just be heating up a little bit.

Forest receive positive Ramon Sosa news

According to Versus in Paraguay, the deal between Forest and Sosa is progressing with talks taking place over the transfer fee and how much in the way of add-ons Talleres will receive.

In further exciting news, things are so far down the line between Forest and the 24-year-old that his current club will now refuse to pick him for matches while this is ongoing.

It’s claimed he won’t be picked again until things are sorted and that really does suggest that things are advancing for this deal to take place.

Sosa enjoyed a fine campaign during 2023/24, scoring seven goals and claiming six assists for his current club.

They qualified for the Copa Libertadores and are due to play a mouthwatering game against River Plate very soon.

Now, however, it looks as though Forest might be making waves with this one and the Paraguay international could soon be on the books at the City Ground.

Sosa could be quality Forest signing

This one does look like a useful addition from a Forest perspective. The player has already held talks with Chelsea and that can only bode well.

Nothing came of the links with a move to Stamford Bridge but the Premier League interest remains rife and Forest look to have swooped.

It’s no secret that a winger was in the sights of Forest. Nuno Espirito Santo has made no secret of a desire to sign a winger and Sosa usually plays on the left.

With any player who has never played in the Premier League, he would of course need a period to settle in and adapt to the different culture.

At 24, however, Sosa has bags of time on his side and if the price is right, this looks like a deal that could prove very fruitful for Forest.
