Nottingham Forest’s summer signing Elliot Anderson suffered a heavy knock in the recent friendly against Millwall.
Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side were able to come out on top in the game against the Championship outfit but they certainly left their mark.
Forest have won two of their three opening friendlies in what has been an impressive start to the summer for the Reds.
Perhaps the only downside to Forest’s pre-season has been the injury which was sustained by Anderson against the Lions.
Next up for Forest is their final game in Spain against La Liga 2 side Elche on Friday night and an injury update has emerged ahead of that meeting.

Elliot Anderson injury latest
On Tuesday night, Anderson was forced off shortly before half time in Spain after being on the end of a crunching tackle from Millwall midfielder George Saville.
The £35m summer signing was unable limp off the pitch under his own power with two Forest physios helping him to the sideline.
Saville’s tackle was even questioned by one Millwall journalist who suggested the 28-year-old may have gone over the top physically considering the game was only a friendly.
‘Did lots of tidying up in front of defence when he could, although some tackles perhaps erred on the unnecessarily physical side for a pre-season outing,’ wrote journalist Toby Bryant for London World.

No official word has been released on Anderson from the club, however, The Athletic’s Daniel Taylor has provided an insight on X.
It is claimed those within Forest are hopeful that the injury is not too serious but it is expected he will undergo scans to confirm this.
Anderson is highly unlikely to be anywhere near the squad for the game on Friday night with Forest not back in action until next Friday back at the City Ground.
Elliot Anderson has looked really bright this pre-season
Not that Forest fans would wish injury on any of their players, but it was a real shame to see Anderson the one on the receiving end of the tackle.
The 21-year-old has made a really impressive start to life at Forest in the little game time that he has had under Nuno.
“Positive from the off. Created an early opportunity for himself with a good run into the box. Latched on to Sangare’s pass and worked the goalkeeper,” said journalist Sarah Clapson after the Sunderland draw.
Over his first three games, Nuno has fielded different XIs either side of the half which has limited Anderson to a maximum of 45 minutes.
Forest fans will now have everything crossed that Taylor’s early suspicion is correct and Anderson can make a speedy recovery ahead of the new campaign.
