Nottingham Forest are busy trying to add to their squad ahead of the 2024/25 campaign with a few new additions still required.

Four new players have been with the squad at their training base in Spain and Evangelos Marinakis will continue to back Nuno Espirito Santo.

The Reds are in the market for a winger and a striker before the window closes at the end of next month and there is money available for more players.

Forest are going to prioritise quality over quantity this time around as the club looks to act like an established Premier League club in the transfer market.

With the players now back in England following a pre-season training camp in Spain, it looks as though a talented youngster is going to arrive on trial.

Nottingham Forest take Lamin Sillah on trial

The young forward is arriving at the City Ground on Monday to embark on a two-week trial at the Nigel Doughty Academy.

It’s not sure at this stage whether he will work with the senior ranks or the B-Team and Sillah will have a chance to earn a contract.

According to Gambian journalist Foday Manneh, Sillah is flying over to England and he will begin training tomorrow evening.

Forest are taking a very talented player for a closer look after 17 goal contributions for local side, Steve Bilko FC, last season.

Sillah scored 14 goals and claimed three assists from the left wing and a left-footer is certainly something which Forest are looking for.

Interest rife in Sillah

Forest aren’t the only club who have placed the versatile forward on their radar but they are the only one who has invited the player for a trial.

Sillah will be keen to take the leap and join a European side and quite clearly he’s outgrown domestic football in Gambia.

If the player does get a deal with Forest it will be the first time he’s signed a professional contract during his career.

Forest have two established wingers in Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi within their squad for next season.

With that in mind, the club might view Sillah as a younger option who can merely provide competition for the two first-choice wingers.

The ball is now in Sillah’s court ahead of the new season and he will hope to star during his trial in the East Midlands.
