Nottingham Forest rival Leeds for player wanted by George Syrianos, Serie A giants have bid already

Nottingham Forest recruitment guru George Syrianos has signed some top players since he arrived at the City Ground.

Despite signing decent additions like Taiwo Awoniyi and Moussa Niakhate, Syrianos was cut loose by Forest and it was no surprise when they asked him to come back last year.

The German recruitment is overseeing operations at Forest and this summer, the club has done more good business in the market.

Eric da Silva Moreira is quite clearly a Syrianos addition having won the under-17 World Cup with Germany previously.

Nikola Milenkovic has also signed and it’s thought that he too was an addition targeted by Syrianos.

Jota Silva was the most recent addition to the ranks and now it looks as though Syrianos has got another signing in his sights.

Nottingham Forest rival Leeds United for Bruno Ogbus

The 18-year-old is a central defender and he’s currently playing for Bundesliga outfit Freiburg.

According to Sky Sports Germany reporter Dennis Bayer, Forest and Leeds are going to do battle for Ogbus this month.

AC Milan have already had a really low and derisory bid rejected – with Freiburg keen to keep him at the club.

Ogbus signed for the Bundesliga outfit in 2022 when he checked in from Zurich in Switzerland.

He initially joined up with the second string in Germany and has had to work his way towards first-team football.

During his time at Freiburg, he’s played nine times for the second string in the German third tier and has also played for the under-19s.

Senior football hasn’t been something he’s played yet and as a result, perhaps Forest won’t be going full steam ahead to complete this deal.

Leeds are also keen and it’s another season without Premier League football for the Whites who lost in the Championship Play-Off Final.

Ogbus would be a signing for the future at Forest

The talented teenager plays as a centre-back and perhaps if Forest landed him he’d link up with the B-Team first.

With a plethora of central defenders at the club, Ogbus would perhaps struggle to get into the team in the short term.

At 18, however, he would have bags of time on his side and he could prove to be a very useful player for Forest further down the line.

Much like Moreira, perhaps Ogbus could come in and act as a squad player in the short term, with minutes handed to him in the cup competitions.

Ogbus certainly looks like the sort of player who has the potential to become a top player in the future.

He’s six foot tall which is likely to make him good in the air and the fact that Freiburg want to keep him, suggests he’s a seriously talented player coming through the ranks.
