Nottingham Forest are still in the market to sign new players with a left-back very much in the sights of the football club.
Over the weekend Forest were linked with Brest defender Bradley Locko but it would appear that other players are on a shortlist of targets.
Forest have Ola Aina in their squad again for this season after he signed a new one-year contract at the end of the 2023/24 campaign.
He spent the majority of last season operating as a left-back, with Harry Toffolo acting as the player in reserve.
Now, the Reds are keen to sign another player and have identified a player who didn’t play much last season following a serious injury.

Nottingham Forest want Monaco defender Caio Henrique
This one has come up on the rails like a bit of a bolt from the blue and Forest are reportedly keen on the Brazilian, according to UOL.
Henrique made just nine appearances last season, scoring once before picking up a cruciate ligament injury that cruelly saw him miss much of the campaign.
He did return before the end of the Ligue 1 season though and managed 90 minutes in the club’s final game against Nantes.
After a full pre-season with Monaco, it would appear he’s now fit and raring to go, with a sale potentially on the cards.
It’s claimed that Forest and West Ham have both made enquiries to sign Henrique but no firm offers have come just yet.
Monaco would like to keep the 27-year-old but might sell if a substantial offer is forthcoming this month.
Henrique has also played once for Atletico Madrid and has also featured for Fluminense, Gremio and Parana in South America.
Henrique is just too risky from a Forest perspective
At 27, the man who was considered for Copa America selection this year is likely to approach his peak – if he’s not there already.
Forest had a rotten run with injuries during the 2022/23 campaign during their maiden season back in the top flight.
As a result, we believe it would just be too foolish to sign a player who has only just returned from surgery on a cruciate knee problem.
Aina is more than capable of starting the season as the first-choice left-back and perhaps Forest don’t have to rush in their search for a new defender.
Henrique is a useful player but for a club like Forest where every penny is crucial, this one just feels too risky.
