Nottingham Forest are looking forward to next weekend’s Premier League opener with Bournemouth to visit the City Ground first up.

It’s now the time of the year when pundits and so-called experts start to deliver their predictions on the Premier League.

For Forest, it’s all about building on the two previous Premier League seasons and starting to look a little bit more comfortable at this level.

Forest finished 16th in their maiden season back in the top flight and last season managed to scrape to a safe 17th place.

That won’t do for Evangelos Marinakis again, however, and some real signs of progress will need to be evident in his eyes this time around.

With days until the start of the new campaign, Forest legend Stan Collymore has now delivered his verdict on how the Premier League will pan out this term.

Stan Collymore predicts where Nottingham Forest will finish

Intriguingly, many outsiders have used some lazy guess worth to presume that all is not well at Forest.

The Reds look to be over the worst of their PSR crimes and should get through this season unscathed in that sense.

Furthermore, Forest have improved their basket case approach to transfers, focusing on quality over quantity this summer.

Collymore it seems is predicting another season of relative struggle – although he does fancy the club to improve by one place.

He’s taken to X to post his Premier League predictions for the upcoming campaign and has Forest down in 16th.

In fairness, his predictions are a little bit of a cop-out, predicting all three promoted teams to go down, with only Brentford suffering a major drop from last season.

Forest can improve with united front

The Reds will hope to get off to a good start this season with the fixture list finally being kind to Forest.

Collymore is probably being realistic but if Forest can take the pressure off with some early-season positivity things could go even better.

One thing in the favour of the Reds is that all of their top players have so far remained in place on Trentside.

In theory that should ensure some continuity and hopefully, that can have a positive impact on results.

Forest will hope to finish a little higher than Collymore’s prediction but as long as Premier League football remains on the cards there won’t be too many disgruntled punters.
