It’s been claimed in the last 24 hours that Nottingham Forest are now facing interest from AC Milan in midfielder Danilo.
The Reds performer is a wanted man with the player kicking on since making a £16 million move from Palmerias in January 2023.
Danilo has enjoyed a strong relationship with the Forest faithful and it’s hard to imagine many supporters wanting him to leave the club this summer.
Now, however, the debate over his future looks like rumbling on and David Prutton has delivered his verdict on whether or not the Brazilian should be sold.

David Prutton shares whether Nottingham Forest should sell Danilo
It’s fair to say that the former midfielder is in no doubt as to how the club should handle this situation.
The numbers quoted aren’t particularly good from a Forest perspective and thankfully, reports have claimed that the club want £40 million.
Even that feels cheap and Prutton has suggested that it wouldn’t be ideal for Forest to sell Danilo at this stage.
He said on the Forest Focus podcast: “It’s a tricky one when we talk about monetary value for players. We have to talk about Forest being a club that has to keep a healthy eye on players.
“He’s been a regular under Nuno so there is a problem for Forest as they need to replace him.
“Anything above £11 million would be profit but it’d just be a kick in the teeth wouldn’t it? If he goes, that’s a gap to fill a problem to solve and it feels a bit cheap.”
Steve Cooper was a big fan of Danilo during his time time at the club, calling him ‘quality’ back in April 2023.
Forest shouldn’t sell Danilo at this late stage
Although Forest have a number of midfield players at the club, Danilo is probably the most versatile of them all.
He works hard, links up well with the forwards and also isn’t afraid to get his foot in defensively at the opposite end of the pitch.
Danilo is only 23 with bags of potential and losing him now would represent an underwhelming piece of business for Forest.
However, in this day and age, everyone is aware that PSR guidelines must be met and it depends on how the land lies at Forest right now.
With the season just under a week away, it would be a serious blow for Forest to lose a player of Danilo’s ilk.
Financially, if an offer does come in it does provide the club with a conundrum.
However, the Reds will surely want to keep hold of Danilo and if Nuno Espirito Santo has any chance of improving the team’s fortunes, players like the Brazilian need to be on board.
