It’s been one of the longest-running sagas that Nottingham Forest have been involved in for some time but now Ramon Sosa is close to signing for the club.
The situation involving Forest and Sosa has been on and off more than J-Lo and Ben Affleck but it finally feels like negotiations have reached a conclusion.
Forest are going to part with around £11 million to land the Paraguayan winger and he might be signed in time for Saturday’s first game with Bournemouth.
The Reds look to have got their wish and another winger has been on the shopping list of Nuno Espirito Santo all summer.
Sosa has been a revelation during his time with Talleres and now Forest will be hoping that he can adapt quickly to life in the Premier League.

Talleres owner shares how he feels as Ramon Sosa nears Nottingham Forest move
For Andres Fassi, his resolve has finally been breached. For weeks, he’s tried to prevent Sosa from leaving but in the end, the players always get their wish.
Now, the 24-year-old is going to fly to England and sign a long-term deal at Forest.
Fassi admits he’s not really too upset as he knew that Sosa would leave Argentina to move to Europe at some point.
He told Argentine journalist Cesar Luis Merlo: “I’m not disappointed. It hurts me a lot because, like everyone, we tried to make the best squad possible, but with Ramon (Sosa).
“He is one of the best forwards in Argentine football. He has every right to think about himself and not about Talleres.”
Sosa can really thrive at Forest
Forest are now certainly well stocked out wide with Sosa joining Callum Hudson-Odoi, Anthony Elanga and Jota Silva as the options for those positions.
Espirito Santo has been keen to ensure he has more attacking options from the bench and now the Reds will have that.
Sosa enjoyed a wonderful 2023/24 campaign, scoring seven goals and claiming six assists for Talleres.
Furthermore, the left-winger starred during Copa American for Paraguay, scoring once as the nation were knocked out at the group stages.
Fassi is clearly trying to put on a brave face but after weeks of trying desperately to keep Sosa in Argentina, he’s finally admitted defeat.
The Paraguayan star should get plenty of opportunities at Forest and with the right level of backing from his manager, he should be capable of becoming a City Ground hit.
