Nottingham Forest are still trying to work some further deals this summer despite having been one of the busiest clubs in the Premier League.

Nuno Espirito Santo must be delighted with how Forest‘s summer has panned out both on and off the pitch.

The Reds have enjoyed a successful pre-season when it comes to their preparations with their final friendly of the summer ending in a thrillina 4-3 win over in Greece.

But Evangelos Marinakis has been a busy man in the transfer window with six new faces having come through the doors at the City Ground.

And it seems as if another one of their targets for the final couple of weeks is now looking to earn himself a move elsewhere.

Nottingham Forest target wants to leave his club this summer

Negotiations are ongoing over a deal to see Ramon Sosa join Forest over the coming days as the player dreams about the move to the City Ground.

Sosa has even rebelled against Talleres training to force a move to Forest after the two clubs were struggling to complete a deal.

And now, Fabrizio Romano has claimed there is another Forest target who is hoping his future will lie elsewhere by the end of the window.

On Wednesday morning, Romano shared Sam Johnstone‘s desire to move on from Crystal Palace this summer.

Nottingham Forest have shown an interest in Johnstone already this summer despite having also signed Carlos Miguel.

But Forest were not credited in Romano’s post with the likes of Southampton, Leicester City and Wolves also believed to be eyeing the former England international.

Sam Johnstone stripped of Crystal Palace shirt number amid Forest interest

The writing seems to be on the wall when it comes to Johnstone’s future at Selhurst Park following a recent development.

Ahead of the new campaign, Palace have stripped Johnstone of the number one shirt and have handed it to Dean Henderson.

Johnstone has previously been hailed as ‘unbelievable‘ by BBC Sport’s Gary Lineker but he did endure his difficulties last season.

The 31-year-old only made 20 appearances in the Premier League last term after suffering multiple injury issues which curtailed his campaign.

Valued at around £10m, Forest will be hoping that Johnstone would be arriving at the City Ground looking to prove a point to his former side if he was to join.
