Those at Nottingham Forest have been left so ‘surprised’ by how good one summer signing has been

Nottingham Forest have now completed their pre-season efforts ahead of their Premier League opener next Saturday.

The preparations have been solid for Nuno Espirito Santo‘s side who have spent some of their summer in Spain where three friendlies were played out.

Forest have been busy in the transfer market, too, having brought in six new faces and with the possibility for more.

There is still three weeks for Evangelos Marinakis to sanction more deals at the City Ground with Forest lodging a bid for Porto’s Galeno earlier in the week.

But it seems there is one player who has already arrived this summer who has really impressed those at the club including his Forest teammates.

Nottingham Forest summer signing has really impressed so far

One thing which Forest have done extremely well this summer is their recruitment and bringing their targets in early on in the window.

Five of the six players had been signed in time for the trip to Spain – albeit with Marko Stamenic instantly being loaned out to Olympiacos.

But that did provide the players with the perfect opportunity to settle in to their new club whilst being worked hard in the 40C heat.

And it seems as if there is one player who has really impressed his new teammates having now had a few weeks at the club.

According to The Athletic, the club and the Forest players have been left really impressed by the young winger Eric Moreira.

Having played in the early stages of the pre-season at Forest, Moreira has been able to show his physical attributes on the pitch.

And it is said that those at the club have been left ‘pleasantly surprised’ by how good the 18-year-old has looked so far this summer.

Although it is not expected that he will be earning himself a starting spot ahead of Neco Williams, he has shown he could be within a shout of a first-team opportunity earlier than expected.

More signings expected at Forest

Despite already adding six players to Nuno’s options over the summer, there could still be more players headed to the City Ground.

There is even a player in Ramon Sosa who is now holding out for a move to Forest as he refuses to train with his current club CA Talleres.

At this point, any further signings would now be seen as a bonus given the majority of the business is seemingly done.

But there will also be a big emphasis put on Forest keeping their top players like Murillo for the remainder of the season, at this stage of the window.
