Nottingham Forest were held to a 1-1 draw with Bournemouth on Saturday but the thoughts of everyone were with Danilo at the end.

Football paled into insignificance of what the young Brazilian suffered after just 10 minutes of the curtain-raiser in this year’s Premier League campaign.

Danilo was stricken on the turf after a challenge with Antoine Semenyo and it’s been established since the game that he broke his ankle.

As he lay on the field, he was consoled by Forest stars Ibrahim Sangare and Murillo as he received treatment for nine minutes.

After the game the players reacted on their social media platforms, sending their best wishes to Danilo after his serious injury.

Elliot Anderson sends message to Forest star Danilo

The man signed from Newcastle in the summer for £35 million made his debut on Saturday, coming on for the final 20 minutes of the 1-1 draw.

He came on as a left-sided option and looked determined to prove a point during his time on the pitch at the weekend.

After the game, he took to Instagram to deliver some kind words to Danilo following his injury.

He posted: “A point in the right direction! Praying for you Danilo!”

Anderson also posted a love heart emoji and his message was one that was pretty much reciprocated across the team.

Danilo will hope to bounce back quickly

The talented youngster will be absolutely devastated to collect this injury so soon in the new campaign.

Now, Forest will have to give him the best possible care and attention and hope to get him back on the pitch as soon as possible.

The 23-year-old is a quality player on his day and his determination and ability to be versatile in midfield made him an obvious choice to start on Saturday.

Now, Danilo will face a period on the sidelines and hopefully, he can return to the team as the same player when the time is right.

In the short term, Anderson will perhaps have his eye on a midfield spot as he looks to cement his place in the Forest team following his move from Newcastle.
