Nottingham Forest are stepping up their efforts to try and sign Santiago Gimenez from Feyenoord before the transfer window closes.
The man who bagged 26 goals last season has been courted by a number of Premier League clubs over the last 12 months.
Now, it’s Forest who are the club pressing the hardest to try and land the player ahead of other top-flight outfits in England.
Gimenez has already scored four goals this season, including two in four minutes during a 5-1 win over PEC Zwolle yesterday.
Now, the speculation is increasing over Gimenez and it would appear as though Forest are desperate to get this one done.

Fabrizio Romano delivers update on Santiago Gimenez links with Forest
According to the transfer guru, Forest did make a first bid of around £21 million for the player but it’s been rejected.
He claimed that negotiations were going to continue as both clubs looked to make a deal that would suit all parties.
Forest are going to push hard to sign him and it looks almost certain that the club will be making another bid to sign Gimenez.
Another transfer expert, Ben Jacobs, has claimed that Feyenoord want £30 million for the Mexico international.
If that is correct, Forest will have to seriously up the ante and edge closer to that valuation that Feyenoord have placed on their talisman.
Forest need to get Gimenez deal over the line
With Callum Hudson-Odoi, Morgan Gibbs-White and Anthony Elanga providing chances, it’s vital Forest get their striker signing right.
As a result, Gimenez looks perfect for Forest and he could prove a real handful for Premier League defenders.
At 23 he fits the profile nicely of what Forest are trying to achieve in the transfer market and crucially, he knows where the net is.
Forest need to make sure they get their striker recruitment right, with Chris Wood ageing and Taiwo Awoniyi seemingly unable to stay fit.
Gimenez could be the perfect player for Forest this summer and if the club sees him as the number one target, then there is no point in delaying with a second bid.
