Nottingham Forest have sold a number of players this summer to aid with meeting the latest round of PSR – with Odysseas Vlachodimos joining Newcastle.
The stopper was unable to impress either Steve Cooper or Nuno Espirito Santo last season and finished the season as the third-choice custodian.
Vlachodimos was part of some financial gymnastics from a Forest perspective as the club did a deal with Newcastle for Elliot Anderson.
Forest signed Anderson for £35 million but then Newcastle landed Vlachodimos for £20 million to offset some of that valuation.
On Saturday, Anderson stepped off the bench for Forest but for Vlachodimos he endured an all too familiar feeling.

Newcastle make interesting Odysseas Vlachodimos decision
According to The Athletic, Newcastle might already be preparing to wave goodbye to the Greece international.
It’s claimed that a loan move might be on the cards for Vlachodimos who Newcastle paid £20 million for just over a month ago.
Vlachodimos wasn’t among the substitutes on Saturday as Newcastle beat Southampton and he looks to be the third choice at St James’ Park too.
That doesn’t bode well for the 29-year-old who will surely have had one eye on playing some football this season to try and establish himself in England.
Vlachodimos made just seven appearances for Forest last season, keeping one clean sheet and letting in 16 goals.
His chances of playing at Newcastle ahead of Nick Pope did feel bleak but it was at least anticipated that he’d be the regular option from the bench.
Forest have done amazingly well to get £20 million for Vlachodimos
The Reds get a lot of stick from a certain section of the fan base over how they manage their transfer business.
This summer, however, a clear strategy change has been evident, with Forest targeting players for smaller fees and with bigger potential.
Seven players have been added, whilst the total sum of money spent is nowhere near the fees banked on Vlachodimos, Moussa Niakhate and Orel Mangala.
Forest do still have some work to do this summer and a new striker is right at the top of the shortlist.
Getting shut of players like Vlachodimos and still recouping good money has to be deemed as a huge success regardless of what other incoming business takes place this month.
