Nottingham Forest are trying to get a few players to the club ahead of the transfer deadline having already signed nine this summer.

The Reds have been more prudent in the transfer market this time around and quality over quantity has been the order of the day.

Forest do have some gaps remaining in their squad, however. A striker is at the top of the list with a central midfielder also likely to be in their sights.

No stone will be left unturned and a number of players have already been linked with the club ahead of what looks to be another frantic deadline day.

Nottingham Forest face competition for Edoardo Bove

The midfielder is in the sights of Forest ahead of the window closing and now there looks to be an update on his future.

According to Calcio Mercato, Eintracht Frankfurt have stolen a march on Forest and are now looking good to land Bove.

They have bid £11 million for his services, with Forest only currently putting a bid of £8 million plus a string of bonuses on the table.

Bove has been with Roma for a number of years, rising through the youth academy to make waves with the first team.

Bove was hailed by Jose Mourinho was at Roma but since the Portuguese manager has departed his first-team chances have dwindled.

The 22-year-old is yet to play this season and Roma head coach Daniele De Rossi is now willing to let him leave.

With Eintracht Frankfurt now leading the chase, Forest might have to get their finger out if they’re really keen to do this deal before the deadline.

Forest facing losing battle to sign Bove

This one does feel like an easy deal to do. As a result, it’s raising alarms that the deal hasn’t been struck yet – and perhaps Bove isn’t overly keen on Forest.

Frankfurt are more established in the Bundesliga than Forest are in the Premier League and perhaps that is coming into his thinking.

Bove would have been a decent addition to the ranks and he would have provided competition with Danilo out with a serious injury.

There is still time for Forest, however. The window doesn’t close for over 24 hours yet and the Reds might have some other irons in the fire before the deadline.

Bolstering the midfield ranks isn’t a complete necessity for Forest, however, and hopefully, the Reds don’t spend too much time on this deal.
