Nottingham Forest are in the market for new players on transfer deadline day but the Reds’ squad does look pretty strong.
Last night, Forest took a very strong Newcastle team to penalties after Nuno Espirito Santo decided to make 10 changes to his team.
The Reds have added nine new players to the ranks this summer and things have improved considerably in terms of depth from last season.
Now, ahead of Saturday’s game against Wolves, Espirito Santo has chosen to not talk about transfers but instead praise one of his current players.

What Nuno Espirito Santo said about Forest star Chris Wood
The 32-year-old has been a man on a mission since Espirito Santo came to the football club and he’s been busy repaying his faith.
Last night, Wood was an unused substitute last night against his old club and that might have annoyed him a little bit.
However, he will see the bigger picture and with no sign of a new striker, it looks like Wood will get the nod again on Saturday.
Espirito Santo is thankful for Wood being in his squad and it sounds like he will remain important this season.
He told BBC Sport: “We trust him, we give him confidence, he has good team-mates around him which helps. But he is a top striker and top man, he helps a lot in the dressing room – not only by how he conducts himself and works hard but also we know how he helps his team-mates.”
Wood still has a role at Forest
The Reds striker has really proved his critics wrong. As a result, he has earned the right to be part be part of the squad and he will take some dispossessing from the team.
Okay, so Wood isn’t getting any younger but he’s a model professional and always gives his all when he’s called upon by the Forest boss.
Given his age – and his capabilities – Forest do have to play slightly differently to accommodate Wood but that’s not impossible.
A younger, more mobile talisman would be an ideal signing but Wood isn’t instantly going to be dismissed from the Forest squad.
He scored 15 times in all competitions last season and these comments from Espirito Santo suggest that any new striker will have to compete with Wood for the shirt.
