Nottingham Forest are desperate to sign a new striker before tonight’s transfer deadline.

There are a number of reports and rumours doing the rounds and Forest are looking to finalise the squad today.

Clearly there are some irons in the fire as the club looks to have Nuno Espirito Santo every tool possible to kick Forest further up the Premier League.

After four points in two games to kick off the new campaign, optimism is high and the club want to get their squad well-stocked before Friday’s cut-off.

Nottingham Forest knocked back in Omar Marmoush chase

Florian Plettenberg has provided the very latest on Forest and their attempts to sign the speed demon Bundesliga striker.

The club’s last offer has now been rejected and Forest are going to have to push towards the £27 million mark to get their striker over the line.

So far, Forest have bid £20-25 million and that simply wont do for Eintracht Frankfurt who value their player highly.

The 25-year-old is on the back of a solid season in the Bundesliga, and he scored 17 goals in all competitions for the German outfit.

Last season, Marmoush was praised by boss Dino Topmoller after he scored twice against Borussia Dortmund.

He told King Fut: “Omar is a fantastic boy who always gives maximum effort in addition to his blistering pace.”

Marmoush is also an international with Egypt – often playing alongside Mohamed Salah – and for the national team he’s scored five goals in 29 outings.

It was claimed yesterday that Marmoush wants to come to Forest and he’s desperate for the move to happen before the deadline tonight.

Forest will now look to thrash out a deal with Frankfurt and ensure the player is added to the ranks in time to meet the deadline.

These latest claims from Germany suggest that Rob Dorsett was wide of the mark when he claimed Forest were in advanced negotiations to sign Marmoush.

Marmoush could be ideal for Forest

Forest have had to quickly move on from Santiago Gimenez with the long-running interest proving nothing more than a saga.

Marmoush fits in with the profile of players that Forest have tried to attract this summer and with 17 goals during 2023/24, he clearly knows where the net is.

Marmoush would likely cost similar to what Gimenez was going to but he’s played in a better league than what the Mexican has.

With the deadline coming quickly on the horizon, however, Forest have to get real with this and pay Frankfurt what they want if they’re to get this deal signed and sealed.
