Nottingham Forest are in the market for a number of players before tonight’s deadline and the clock is now ticking.
James Ward-Prowse is set to join Forest on loan from West Ham and that deal looks set to be completed today.
Another deal that Forest hope to conclude is for the signing of Morato from Benfica and that looks like another decent piece of business.
Forest might also look to sign another goalkeeper but there has now been an update on the club’s long-standing search for a striker.

Forest suffer blow in quest to sign Omar Marmoush
The Reds were keen to land a striker but now John Percy has shattered the dreams of the fan base.
He’s posted on X this morning that Forest are no longer in the market for Marmoush with Forest unable to stretch to the £28 million asking price.
Furthermore, Percy also believes that Forest are unlikely to sign a striker before tonight’s transfer window.
All isn’t lost, however, and he has mentioned that nothing should be ruled out at this stage, despite thongs looking unlikely.
Forest do have Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi on their books and perhaps Nuno Espirito Santo can continue to get a tune out of the former.
Forest right to avoid overspending on the wrong player
It’s been a bizarre summer in terms of searching for a striker for Forest, with a number of targets identified.
Santiago Gimenez, Eddie Nketiah and now Marmoush have all seemingly rejected Forest this summer.

However, this is not the end of the world. Forest do have Wood and Awoniyi in the squad and on their day both can score.
Not landing Marmoush is a blow for Forest and it will now be intriguing to see if the Reds have other irons in the fire.
