Nottingham Forest are still searching for a new goalkeeper before the transfer deadline but one of the current crop could be about to leave.

The Reds are doing some seriously good business this summer. James Ward-Prowse epitomises that with the free-kick king set to join Forest on loan.

Morato is also going to check in at Forest and things are looking good when it comes to squad depth.

Caoimhin Kelleher is the goalkeeper in the sights of Forest before the window closes and one player could be about to jump ship.

Matt Turner set to sign for Crystal Palace

According to Rob Dorsett of Sky Sports, Turner is now on his way to London to sign terms with Palace ahead of the deadline.

The USMNT number one has fallen way down the pecking order at Forest and he’s now set to end his 12 months at the club.

Turner was the first choice for the first half of the 2023/24 campaign but a number of high-profile errors saw him lost his place on two occasions.

The 30-year-old made 21 appearances for the club and given that he cost £10 million, this won’t go down as money well spent.

Turner is now set to provide backup to former Forest custodian Dean Henderson, with Sam Johnstone joining Wolves today.

It’s thought that Turner is heading to London on a season-long loan but his future at Forest now looks to be over.

Forest right to offload Turner on deadline day

This is a huge relief and hopefully, Forest can now draw a line under this episode in the club’s history.

Not many goalkeepers have boasted as many calamity moments as Turner and he’s proved a panic signing of epic proportion.

Forest simply have to move on from this episode now and Turner will now play second fiddle at Palace this season.

Whether or not Forest receive anything from Palace for this deal remains to be seen and it will also be interesting to see if anyone else comes in on deadline day.
