Nottingham Forest forward Morgan Gibbs-White will hope to collect his first England cap this weekend when the Three Lions face the Republic of Ireland in Dublin.
The Reds player has been in fine form since he swapped Wolves for Forest in 2022. He was Steve Cooper’s number one target and he persuaded the club to part with a fee that could rise up to £42 million for his services.
Gibbs-White has been slowly working up to this England call-up. He has progressed in terms of goals and assists with each passing season and now he has an international cap in his sights.
For Forest fans, it’s clear to see that Gibbs-White has matured since he came to the club. He’s been trusted with the captain’s armband this season and is a leader within the dressing room.

How Morgan Gibbs-White has changed since signing for Nottingham Forest
This comes from Tom Collomosse who has written a piece on Gibbs-White for the Daily Mail. He follows Forest closely for his role as the Midlands Football Correspondent and he’s shared a noticeable different in the Reds star.
In his latest piece, he claimed that during his time at Wolves, Gibbs-White wasn’t always sweetness and light. It’s believed that on some days at Wolves, the attacker would be charming in training but on other days he wouldn’t.
At Forest, the player has matured considerably. He’s now grasped that his day-to-day job as a footballer isn’t just restricted to training and matches and he also takes time these days to spend time with the academy players.
Gibbs-White will earn Forest a fortune in the future
At 24-years-old, Gibbs-White is still learning. Forest paid an initial £25 million for the player and with a number of add-ons included that fee could rise to £42.5 million.
It’s been claimed recently that Forest value Gibbs-White at £70 million. A number of clubs asked questions in the summer but nothing ever got close to being completed.
Ultimately, the player has been a revelation since the club signed Gibbs-White as the number one target following promotion. He’s given everything he’s got to be a success at Forest and the fan base loves him.
Hopefully, Gibbs-White can put the icing on the cake this weekend. He’s craved an England appearance for a long time and it would be seriously good for the football club if he could get on the pitch and claim a maiden cap.
