Nottingham Forest currently have 14 players away with their nations during the international break trying to do their utmost for their country.
Morgan Gibbs-White played for England yesterday to end a long wait for an international wearing the famous jersey with Three Lions on.
Other players are away on international duty too. Andrew Omobamidele was in the Republic of Ireland squad that faced England but didn’t get on the pitch.
Forest have come a long way in the last few years. As a result, it’s mad to think that the club now has several players who head off to play for their nation on a frequent basis.
Naturally, it’s always intriguing to see how the Forest stars get on when playing for their respective country.
Some have a large amount of success whilst others do seem to struggle when playing for their country.

Nottingham Forest star Anthony Elanga plays for Sweden
The 22-year-old signed for Forest for £15 million from Manchester United in the summer of 2023.
In his maiden campaign at the City Ground, he scored five goals and claimed nine assists to showcase what he’s capable of.
However, he just can’t seem to take off on the international stage when it comes to turning out for Sweden.
He was hauled off at half-time on Thursday night as Sweden beat Azerbaijan 3-1 and the national media went to town on him.
Fotballskanalen does a rating system and he was give a verdict of ‘failed’ for his efforts in the opening 45 minutes.
They claimed: “Not a successful day. Tried to challenge his opponent but had trouble getting free. Had a hard time defensively. Substitution at half time.”
Elanga striving for consistency and Forest need him
At 22, the winger is still learning his trade and patience is required.
His raw pace makes him an asset to the team and the club will continue to give him a chance to perform in the Premier League.
Elanga had pressure for his place from Jota Silva and Ramon Sosa now and he will have to pick up his form.
It’s not great that he’s headed out to Sweden and underperformed and now his place might be up for grabs on that front.
For Forest, however, the message is that he will continue to get the shirt and he will hope to start registering goals and assists more frequently as the season progresses.
