Death, taxes and a Nottingham Forest player getting injured on international duty are three things that can always be taken for granted in life!

It never rains at the City Ground, it pours. Ever since winning promotion to the Premier League, certain Forest players have been unable to escape niggling injuries.

Now, with 14 players away on international duty, Forest have seen another player pick up an injury ahead of the Premier League returning.

Nuno Espirito Santo will now have to get his medical staff to assess the player in question ahead of this weekend’s trip to Liverpool.

Willy Boly returns to Nottingham Forest for treatment

According to L’Avenir, the central defender has collected a calf injury which has ruled him out of the Ivory Coast fixtures in African Cup of Nations qualifying.

The latest injury issue for Boly has come during a routine training session and could prove detrimental to Forest.

Ivory Coast coach Emerson Fae confirmed the injury issue during his press conference and he shared the concern that Boly was experiencing.

He said: “Regarding the absence of Willy Boly, I will simply explain to you: he was unfortunately injured in training just before our match against Chad.

“Examinations revealed a calf injury, and he is therefore unavailable. He returned to the club to recover.”

Forest need Boly to get fit quickly

Although the Reds signed Morato on transfer deadline day, the club will want to have as many squad members available as possible this season.

Boly was part of the good things that Forest did last season and although not currently the first choice, he’s a great option from the bench.

Andrew Omobamidele wasn’t even on the bench against Wolves last time out and Forest do have options to call upon.

Boly is that bit of experience that Forest need in the dressing room, however, and hopefully, this proves to be nothing too serious.
