Callum Hudson-Odoi fired Nottingham Forest to a historic win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.
The England international scored a spectacular goal in the 72nd minute to secure a first victory for the Garibaldi at Anfield since 1969 – and also to continue Nottingham Forest‘s unbeaten start to the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

The New Zealand international clearly enjoyed the Nottingham Forest No.14’s strike at Anfield, judging by what he sent to the winger after the 1-0 win.
Wood wrote “you beauty 😍🎯” in a message he tagged Hudson-Odoi in on Instagram, evidently impressed by the Londoner’s screamer on Merseyside.
The Nottingham Forest No.11 added “big win” to his post, to which Andrew Omobamidele replied with a few fire emojis.
Hudson-Odoi himself also responded, adding a couple more of those “🔥” emoticons in Wood’s comment section.
It was the 23-year-old’s first Premier League goal of the season, and what a way to get it.
Squad morale seems high at Nottingham Forest
After such a chaotic 2023/24 campaign, in which Nottingham Forest were more than outspoken when it came to refereeing decisions, and a season which also involved a points deduction, everything suddenly seems very calm at the City Ground.
Whatever Nuno Espirito Santo did at Wilford Lane over the summer, it has worked to perfection.
Whether players are starting on the pitch or the bench, everybody seems to be pulling in the same direction, a notion emphasised by Anthony Elanga and Callum Hudson-Odoi planning how they could impact the game as substitutes while sat on the sidelines.
Nottingham Forest now have two wins and two draws from four Premier League outings so far this season, leaving the Reds sixth at the time of writing – hopefully, this superb form can continue.
