What one Liverpool staff member said about Nottingham Forest dressing room celebrations after 1-0 Anfield win

Nottingham Forest certainly enjoyed themselves after recording a famous 1-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

As the likes of Arne Slot and Ryan Yates spoke in their interviews after the game, music could be heard reverberating around the halls of Anfield, as Nottingham Forest players celebrated.

In fact, those in the away dressing room celebrated so enthusiastically, that one Liverpool staff member even made a remark…

What Liverpool staff said about Nottingham Forest celebrations

Nottingham Forest had not secured a win at Anfield since 1969, so those in Nuno Espirito Santo’s squad wanted a celebration to match the accomplishment.

55 years without victory on Anfield had finally come to an end, and, according to the ECHO, one Liverpool staff member remarked “they are having a right old party in there” – gesturing towards the away dressing room.

Hopefully, that comment was not made in a spiteful manner, as the Garibaldi deserve to celebrate as loudly as they like after such a long wait for victory at Anfield.

Could be a springboard for special season

Nottingham Forest fans were already feeling quite optimistic about the 2024/25 campaign after going unbeaten in the first three Premier League games, following a 1-0 win over Southampton and 1-1 draws against Bournemouth and Wolves.

However – with all due respect to those three clubs – they are nowhere near the level of Liverpool, a side who many were tipping to be in the Premier League title race after three straight wins to start the season, without conceding.

Therefore, the fact Nottingham Forest outsmarted Slot’s side on their own turf should instil a huge amount of confidence in Nuno’s squad, and make them believe they are capable of doing something special this season.

With immense talents such as Callum Hudson-Odoi and Morgan Gibbs-White, who was seen embracing Nuno on the touchline, in attack, and rocks like Murillo and Morato in defence, there is no reason why Nottingham Forest can’t have a memorable 2024/25 campaign.
