Nottingham Forest defied the odds at the weekend as Nuno Espirito Santo masterminded a 1-0 win over Liverpool to hand Arne Slot a first defeat in English football.
Callum Hudson-Odoi scored the only goal of the game at the famous stadium. He cut inside from the left to score a scrumptious effort beyond Alisson who seemingly thought the shot was going wide.
The win leaves Forest seventh in the Premier League and the team remain unbeaten from four games this season. Next up is Brighton away and that sees two sides who are yet to lose during the 2024/25 campaign face-off.
There were a number of top performances at Anfield against Liverpool. Every single player who got on the pitch played their part in the win and it will live long in the memory of the club’s supporters.

Gabby Agbonlahor raves about Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White
The Forest number 10 wasn’t the captain on Saturday as Ryan Yates took the armband after replacing the injured Ibrahim Sangare in the starting eleven at Liverpool.
Gibbs-White remains a real leader on the pitch though. He once again led by example against Liverpool and right now, nobody in the Premier League has created more chances from open play this season.
After his heroics at Anfield, Agbonlahor raved about Gibbs-White and named the Forest man in his TalkSPORT Team of the Week, citing his leadership qualities.
He explained: “What I like about Gibbs-White is that he will get on the ball in any space. If it’s dangerous, he will get on the ball, but what I love most about his performance against Liverpool was his work rate. He was everywhere, he was pressing, he was hunting down, he was chasing.
“He showed that captain’s performance of a player who loves the club and wants to do those hard yards. Morgan Gibbs-White was outstanding, and every player sort of went from Morgan Gibbs-White with the press and then they got a deserved 1-0 win.”
Gibbs-White caps amazing week with defining Forest moment
It’s been a hectic fortnight for Gibbs-White. He was called into the England squad for the first time a fortnight ago and made his debut in the Nations League game against the Republic of Ireland.
It’s absolutely no surprise that Gibbs-White produced a solid performance against Liverpool. With other international fixtures on the horizon, the Forest man will be keen to remain in the mix for a call-up.

Forest deserved to win at Liverpool at the weekend. It was a performance that proved that the Reds belong at this level and highlighted significant progress that has undoubtedly been made under Nuno Espirito Santo.
Gibbs-White is a player who is clearly enjoying his football at the moment. It’s quite fitting that Agbonlahor has mentioned the work rate that the number 10 possesses and one thing that’s never in question is his commitment to the cause.
