Nottingham Forest rolled back the years to claim a morale-boosting win over Liverpool at Anfield with Callum Hudson-Odoi winning the game with a trademark 72nd-minute goal.
The Reds would have likely been happy with a point from a tough-looking trip to Anfield. However, Nuno Espirito Santo had other ideas and masterminded all three points instead.
Forest, of course, have work to do and it’s now vital that the Reds build on this. The Reds are fancied to be down near the bottom again and hopefully, the club can continue surprising teams this season.
Forest have Brighton away next up before a game on home soil against Fulham at the City Ground. The Reds will be boosted in a confidence sense after the Anfield barnstormer and Espirito Santo looks to have everyone pulling in the right direction.

Gabriele Marcotti hails Nottingham Forest star after win over Liverpool
One player who was the subject of vast interest during the summer was Murillo. The Brazilian star has been linked with a number of top European clubs but Forest stood firm on a £70 million valuation for Murillo.
The Reds only paid £10.6 million for the centre-back when it came to taking him from Corinthians. They will have a sell-on included in the deal and they might be rooting for Forest to cash in on the player in the near future.
On Saturday, Murillo was outstanding once again. He made a crucial block to deny Dominic Szoboszlai in the closing stages and was the man of the moment alongside Nikola Milenkovic.
Marcotti was impressed and told The Gab and Juls Show: “Murillo was phenomenal again, as he was for much of last season.”
Forest have to stand firm on Murillo valuation
If the 22-year-old centre-back was valued at £70 million this summer, it’s mouthwatering to wonder what he might be worth next year with another season at Forest under his belt.
Murillo came in for some criticism during pre-season. He gave a couple of clumsy penalties away in friendly games and many fans wondered whether he would start the season right or not.

The sceptics needn’t have worried. Murillo has returned with a valuation to maintain and he looks desperate to stick everything on the line once again and try to do his utmost for Forest.
The young defender is growing with each passing game he plays. Okay, he’s far from perfect at this stage – and mistakes do happen – but he’s a youngster and is still learning his way in professional football.
Whichever way it’s looked at Forest are very lucky to have Murillo. It’s amazing to think that the club managed to keep him this summer and it looks as though Evangelos Marinakis has no intention of selling the defender on the cheap.
