Nottingham Forest fans have been reacting to some big news coming out of the City Ground.

Nuno Espirito Santo has worked wonders this season at the City Ground, which saw Nottingham Forest go unbeaten in their first five games.

However, fans were brought down to earth against Fulham at the weekend in what was a rather abnormal performance, with shades of Steve Cooper’s time at the club.

One of the big issues was the lack of service to both Chris Wood and Taiwo Awoniyi, who were starved throughout the match.

Many Nottingham Forest fans weren’t too pleased with Awoniyi’s display.

Interestingly, fans were treated to an announcement by the club on Tuesday as an announcement was made involving the higher-ups at the City Ground.

Nicholas Randall reappointed as chairman of Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest announced the reappointment of Nicholas Randall in a statement on their website.

Nicholas held the office for six years following the acquisition of the club by Evangelos Marinakis in 2017.

Over the past 12 months, he has continued to play an instrumental role on the Board of Directors, leading on governance and legal matters.

Speaking after the announcement, Nicholas Randall had this to say.

“I would like to extend my thanks to Tom for his hard work and dedication over the past year and a half.

“During that time, it has been a privilege to have remained closely involved with the Club as a member of the Board, and I am delighted to resume the role of Chairman today.

“I would like to thank Evangelos Marinakis and my fellow Board members for entrusting me with the position once again, and I look forward to the next exciting chapter in our history.”

Nottingham Forest fans react to Nicholas Randall announcement

These Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, were rather mixed about the announcement involving Nicholas Randall.

Some weren’t too pleased, whilst some were shocked at how soon he’s back.

“Very odd. I don’t really understand the club I’ve followed for 59 years any more.”, @KJMsport57 said.

@TilehurstRed was surprised: “Surprised Randall has been welcomed back considering how he dealt with certain people! What does this mean for the City Ground plans?”

@thebubstar90 stated: “I swear he’s only been here 5 mins.”

@paulkimbo11 mentioned: “Sounds iffy to me.”

“Nothing about this will be as it is being portrayed. We now have the same Chair that categorically denied that the club would breach PSR.”, @ENG2Stars1Day said.

@HenryisAcecommented: “We are so weird.”

@JimHearson said. “Monday: We’re committed to fans engaging with the chairman. Tuesday: Tom who?”
