Nottingham Forest have already moved on from Odysseas Vlachodimos, but it’s always interesting to see what people are saying about a former player who never got much of a chance.
Nuno Espirito Santo won’t have been too worried about letting Odysseas Vlachodimos go back in the summer transfer window, as Carlos Miguel and Matz Sels are the number one and two.
Vlachodimos didn’t do too badly on his Newcastle debut recently in the Carabao Cup, but he’ll have a hard time displacing Martin Dubravka and Nick Pope.
His seven performances in a year of being at Nottingham Forest just goes to show how underused he was at the City Ground, with his departure causing no issue at all.
Interestingly, his performance for Greece last night caught the eyes of a number of Nottingham Forest fans for all the wrong reasons, which seemed slightly harsh.

Odysseas Vlachodimos’ performance against England
The club won’t be too bothered about the departure of Vlachodimos as he failed to really showcase his talents, with an error or two often being his downfall.
Matz Sels has really set a high bar with his performance against Chelsea, which no doubt will still be fresh in the mind of fans.
Nottingham Forest fans weren’t too pleased with what they saw from Vlachodimos, which is slightly harsh as he didn’t do too much wrong other than potentially doing a bit better for Jude Bellingham’s goal.
Nottingham Forest fans react to Vlachodimos’ display vs England
A lot of Nottingham Forest fans, when speaking on X, all said about how bad Vlachodimos looked.
“Absolute classic Vlachodimos there, the keeper that doesn’t make saves #nffc.”, @Jonathan_Clegg8 said.
@joecookyyy was familiar with the mistake: “This goal sums up Vlachodimos perfectly.”
@marcost68 stated: “Typical Vlachodimos! Getting rid of him and bringing in Anderson was brilliant business. #ENGGRE #NFFC.”
@TimMacLaren2 mentioned: “Vlachodimos 87’ dagger #nffc.”
“Shoot at Vlachodimos and it goes in. Who knew.”, @psychoFTID dropped a sarcastic comment.
@CallumCastel7 commented: “Vlachodimos all over that. England’s second shot on target. Poppadom hands.”
