Odysseas Vlachodimos left Nottingham Forest to join Newcastle United in the summer transfer window, and he impressed the Greek media after his international display last night.
Nottingham Forest waved goodbye to Odysseas Vlachodimos in the summer transfer window as Elliot Anderson made his way to the City Ground.
The Greek international appeared just seven times prior to his move to Tyneside, and has started just once at his new club.
However, he looked alright on the international stage against England, making a save and looking relatively calm on the ball.
Some could say he could’ve done better for Jude Bellingham’s goal, but we’ll let him off.
The Greek media certainly thought he was good, as one outlet in particular wrote a glowing report.

What the Greek media made of Odysseas Vlachodimos’ display against England
Despite not getting a consistent run at Nottingham Forest, they managed to sell him for an eye-watering price due to a deal that helped offset the Elliot Anderson fee.
It was a move that benefited both clubs financially, but Nottingham Forest have definitely got the better end of the deal, as Eddie Howe didn’t even want to lose Anderson.
Both Nottingham Forest and Newcastle fans got a real good glimpse of the goalkeeper in action against England, and he didn’t do too badly.
Greek outlet SDNA gave him a 7/10 for his performance and praised the way he guided the defence.
“Whenever the National Team needed him, he shouted… present. He guided the defense well. Good match from the experienced bouncer who in the 87th minute could not do anything to Bellingham’s shell.”
Odysseas Vlachodimos’ performance in numbers against England
Vlachodimos didn’t have a great deal to do at times as England often threatened without testing him.
He made just one save, had 46 touches, had a passing accuracy of 64%, completed four of his 17 attempted long balls, won one duel, and was fouled once.
Nottingham Forest didn’t need him prior to the sale to Newcastle and they certainly don’t need him now, with Carlos Miguel and Matz Sels holding down the ship right now.
Although, an injury to Sels has caused some worry at Nottingham Forest.
