Nottingham Forest haven’t seen the best of Taiwo Awoniyi in the current campaign, but he still appears to be in high spirits and has been talking about his teammates.

Taiwo Awoniyi was one of the standout performers for Nottingham Forest in the 2022/2023 season, scoring an impressive 11 goals.

However, a mixture of falling out of form and injuries have derailed his past year or so, which has made it difficult for him to reach those same heights.

Fans have understandably been concerned about the striker and are desperate to see him back at his peak, but Awoniyi insists he’s absolutely fine.

Awoniyi’s performance against Libya for Nigeria yesterday wasn’t one of his best either, as he was substituted on and received a 3/10 rating.

However, rather than dwelling on his own game he’s been praising his teammates in an interview recently.

Taiwo Awoniyi says Nottingham Forest have got a ‘top talent’

Nuno Espirito Santo hasn’t been shy of giving top talents a go in his Nottingham Forest side, with Zach Abbott already getting a run around in the cup.

Morgan Gibbs-White, Elliot Anderson and Anthony Elanga are also promising young players who have all excelled at the City Ground.

It was Elanga who Awoniyi described as a ‘top talent’ when conducting an interview.

He was tasked with describing his teammates using one word by Live Score, and here’s what he said on the Sweden international.

“Top talent”.

Anthony Elanga’s time at Nottingham Forest

Anthony Elanga broke onto the scene at Manchester United, but he just wasn’t able to secure a regular place at Old Trafford which led to him exploring his options.

Nottingham Forest welcomed him in, and it’s gone swimmingly so far. Newcastle United even looked to spend big money on Elanga late in the summer.

The one thing about Elanga is that he’s absolutely rapid. In fact, the only player faster than him in the Premier League this season has been Micky van de Ven of Tottenham.

He’s still yet to get off the mark in the current campaign for Forest, but that doesn’t take away from some of his performances, as a constant menace for Nuno Espirito Santo.
