Nottingham Forest have started the 2024/25 campaign extremely well and at the second international break have 10 points from seven games of the season so far.
The Reds have faced Liverpool, Brighton and Chelsea away from the City Ground and collected an impressive five points – remaining unbeaten in the process.
Forest were brilliant at Chelsea last week, with Chris Wood scoring his fourth goal of the season and earning praise from Ally McCoist afterwards.
Joe Hart felt that it was Matz Sels who earned Forest the share of the spoils, with the performance highlighting that the team are now a force to be reckoned with – certainly on the road.
The Reds are changing the perception of the club in the eyes of the media. For years, many have bemoaned the club’s recruitment policy and the scattergun nature of it but things are different now.
Henry Winter has hailed the club’s signing of Nikola Milenkovic. At £12 million he looks like an absolute steal and in a bizarre turn of events some Premier League clubs are perhaps now envious of the club’s approach.

Tony Cascarino shares what he noticed about Nottingham Forest last weekend
The Reds more than held their own against Chelsea last weekend. Forest were trying to win the game even with a man inferior and that sends a big message to the club’s competing with the Reds in the league.
Cascarino is a former Chelsea striker and he can regularly be found at Stamford Bridge these days. On Sunday, he was seriously impressed with Forest and heaped praise on them.
He said on TalkSPORT: “I did think they would go decent this year because I think that they are a bit more complete. I was at Stamford Bridge last week for the Forest game, and I thought Forest held their own. They really did hold their own.
“Went to 10 men in the game as well, you know, so they kept going, they had chances like Chelsea did, could have gone either way the game, but I like a lot of what I saw of Forest. They are a good side.”
Forest still have work to do
The quicker Forest get themselves a somewhat unassailable advantage over the bottom three the better. Ultimately, the aim is still to remain in the Premier League first and the quicker the team does that the better.
After the international break, Forest have three of their next four games at home, with the fixture away from the City Ground coming against struggling Leicester and a reunion with Steve Cooper.
Cascarino is right though and Forest have seriously improved. The team look far better equipped to cope with the Premier League this season and there is already a sense that things can improve over the course of the campaign.
