Nottingham Forest are flying in the Premier League so far this season and are currently unbeaten away from home.

The Reds beat Leicester 3-1 at the King Power Stadium on Friday night to go up to seventh in the Premier League.

Chris Wood scored twice against his former club with Ryan Yates also getting on the score sheet for the first time this season.

With Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm, there is a real sense that things can improve this season at Forest after two relegation-threatened campaigns.

The Forest head coach has taken his players to task in pre-season and now the squad looks well equipped to improve during 2024/25.

Forest had a number of top-performing players at the weekend and there is one player in the ranks who looks a very shrewd signing indeed.

Journalist says Nottingham Forest star reminds him of Jack Grealish

The Reds battered Leicester in truth and Steve Cooper must have been thoroughly embarrassed to hear the Forest fans singing his name.

One player had a brilliant game at Leicester to go with a fine performance against Crystal Palace and it was Elliot Anderson.

The man signed for £35 million was deputising once again for Morgan Gibbs-White and he looks like a very useful addition from Newcastle.

Journalist Carl Anka made an intriguing claim on this week’s podcast for The Athletic and he claimed that Anderson reminded him of Jack Grealish.

He said: “I’ve got to say, Elliot Anderson, in the highlights of him that I’m seeing I’m sat there thinking, ‘Oh, Jack Grealish used to do that for Villa’.”

Anderson is going to be a Forest star for many years to come

Eyebrows were raised when Forest paid such a sum to bring Anderson to the City Ground during the summer – however, the cynics needn’t have worried.

Odysseas Vlachodimos was sent to Newcastle for £20 million to offset the difference and Forest got themselves an absolute bargain.

Anderson has already played in a number of positions for Forest and it’s crystal clear that he gives his all in every single game he plays.

At 21, the future looks very bright for Anderson and the battle between him and Gibbs-White for the number 10 spot in the team now looks fierce.

Nicknamed the ‘Geordie Maradona’ at Newcastle, Anderson does have a bit of Grealish about him and hopefully, he can lead Forest to many more points this season.
