Nottingham Forest have a lot to ponder regarding Murillo as the January transfer window edges closer, and Graeme Bailey has provided an update on the situation of the centre-back.
The issue with Nottingham Forest‘s start to the season is that clubs will naturally start looking at some of our best performers, and there are lots to choose from.
Nikola Milenkovic is one player who has already attracted the attention from Newcastle United, despite joining only months ago in the summer transfer window.
Anthony Elanga was already a target for Newcastle in the summer months, and it’s unlikely they’ll be able to afford him in January due to PSR issues.
Lastly, Murillo is attracting the attention of all the big boys, especially Chelsea, though they’ve been put off by the valuation Nottingham Forest have supposedly slapped on him.
Now, transfer expert Graeme Bailey has provided an update on the situation of Murillo, which involves the Reds copying an idea from one of their rivals.

Nottingham Forest echo Everton’s price tag for Jarrad Branthwaite
And now, speaking exclusively to Nottingham Forest.News, journalist Graeme Bailey has provided an update on the situation of Murillo.
It seems as if Nottingham Forest chiefs have been keeping their eye on other young talents in the Premier League, as Jarrad Branthwaite has come into conversation.
“Forest know what a talented player they’ve got on their hands. A brilliant young player, Brazilian, left-footed. He ticks a lot of boxes.
“We know Real Madrid are one of the clubs looking at him, but there’s Arsenal, Chelsea, United, they’re all looking at him. Forest see him in that Jarrad Branthwaite category, sort of 60-70 million.
“Forest are not worried, they know he’s playing well, so they understand he will attract interest like that.”

Jarrad Branthwaite and Murillo comparisons
Using Jarrad Branthwaite as a marker for what can be achieved in terms of a potential transfer fee is a smart move from Nottingham Forest.
Both players are the same age at 22. They share the same qualities too, with both looking to make use of their pace and strength, plus they have the composure to play out from the back and take people on.
Of course, there’s no desperation from Forest to cash in on Murillo given his importance at the City Ground, but every player has their price.
Brennan Johnson is the prime example of that, with Evangelos Marinakis opting to take the £47.5 million of pure profit on him.
