I saw £6.9m ace put in his best display in a Nottingham Forest shirt against West Ham

Nottingham Forest fans were treated to some incredible performances against West Ham, but one player’s display stood out in particular.

Chris Wood may be getting the plaudits for his goals, but there are so many other players putting in equally as important performances that are perhaps slipping under the radar.

Nottingham Forest are looking like a well-oiled machine at this moment in time, with every player on the pitch doing their job and putting the body on the line for Nuno Espirito Santo.

It’s clear that Nuno has instilled a confidence in his players that we haven’t been used to at the City Ground in seasons gone by, and Julen Lopetegui even noticed the improvements.

One player in particular is relishing the opportunity to play under Nuno, and delivered what we believe to be his best performance yet in a Nottingham Forest shirt.

Nicolas Dominguez’s time to date at Nottingham Forest

Nicolas Dominguez joined Nottingham Forest last summer for around £6.9 million.

He enjoyed a positive run in the side last season, but never really seemed to reach his full potential.

This season has been a completely different story for the midfielder, who has made the most of the opportunity given to him to fill in for Morgan Gibbs-White, as Elliot Anderson moved further up.

Since playing 14 minutes against Chelsea he’s completed 90 minutes three times in a row, and doesn’t look like dropping out of the side anytime soon.

Nottingham Forest fans all agreed that Dominguez deserved the Man of the Match award for his performance against West Ham yesterday, as he was ‘everywhere’.

He played the full 90 minutes. During this time, he had 70 touches, a passing accuracy of 89%, made one key pass, won seven duels, made five tackles, one clearance and one interception.

The midfielder was good against Crystal Palace and Leicester City, but yesterday he looked like a man on a mission and was determined to keep the likes of Lucas Paqueta quiet.

It’s his calmness on the ball that really helped Nottingham Forest dictate the play in the middle of the park, as well as connecting defence to attack.

The counter-attack presence of Jarrod Bowen and Crysencio Summerville was non-existent, with Dominguez making the most tackles he’s made in the Premier League this season.
