Nottingham Forest are absolutely flying in the Premier League right now.

Saturday’s win over West Ham has propelled the Reds to third place in the Premier League after a third successive victory.

Lots of pundits have been backtracking on some pre-season prediction comments made about Forest.

Gary Lineker called himself an ‘idiot’ for suggesting Forest might go down but he wasn’t the only one.

Robbie Earle has also changed his mind on Forest, whilst Sam Matterface has performed a huge U-turn on TalkSPORT.

Forest are starting to make people stand up and take notice of them this season, with Nuno Espirito Santo hitting every note to perfection.

Alan Shearer raves about Nottingham Forest defender Murillo

Last week proved to be quite the week for Murillo.

On Friday it was announced that he’d been called into the Brazil squad for the first time and on Saturday, he helped Forest to a clean sheet.

Murillo is linking up superbly well with Nikola Milenkovic and that partnership has flourished already.

Manchester City considered signing Murillo before his £10.6 million switch to Forest and he’s growing with every game.

Shearer was hugely impressed with the left-sided central defender on Saturday and named him in his Team of the Week.

He said on the Premier League’s official website: “Another commanding performance from the Forest centre-back, whose form this season has been rewarded with a first call-up for Brazil.”

Forest resigned to losing Murillo in the future

It’s a testament to Evangelos Marinakis that Forest managed to stand firm and ultimately keep hold of Murillo during the summer transfer window.

It might prove impossible to do the same next summer but his valuation by then might be even higher!

Murillo was valued at £70 million by the club this year and that seems like a fair price considering his potential to be a superstar.

At 22, the future is extremely bright for Murillo and as Forest fans, we must simply enjoy him whilst we can.

With Marinakis at the helm, suitors should be warned, however, that Murillo is one player who definitely won’t be leaving on the cheap.
