Nottingham Forest hammered West Ham on Saturday to continue climbing the Premier League table.

Under the watchful eye of Nuno Espirito Santo, Forest have been steadily improving this season and are now getting their just rewards.

Evangelos Marinakis almost sacked Espirito Santo twice last season but now he must be thankful that he remained loyal to the Forest head coach.

Forest look to be in a good place on and off the field at the moment, with Edu set to swap Arsenal for the City Ground in the coming weeks.

The sporting director will come in and oversee all of Marinakis’ empire which includes work with Olympiacos and Rio Ave too.

It’s on the field where Forest are really catching the eye though and once again the various Team of the Week pieces have seen the Reds’ stars get mentioned.

Alan Shearer raved about Murillo and others were worthy of note after the weekend’s performance too.

Troy Deeney names Ola Aina in his Team of the Week

Well, wonders will never cease – Deeney has once again named a Forest player in his Premier League Team of the Week.

After overlooking every Forest player following the win over Liverpool, Deeney has now included a Forest man for three weeks on the spin.

This time he’s chosen Aina as the man to get the nod and he believes he’s been proving his worth for a number of weeks now.

He told BBC Sport: “I could have put Ipswich’s Leif Davis in and wanted to but Forest are steadily going about their business.

“Aina was great in the win over West Ham – he has been for a few weeks and has been unfortunate to miss out. I like to give credit to people who have shown they can do it over a period of time.”

Forest linked to Leif Davis in January

The Reds were in the market for some defensive reinforcements during January and it was claimed that Davis was fancied.

As a result, it’s quite interesting that Aina gets the nod in Deeney’s team ahead of the current Ipswich defender.

The Tractor Boys are still awaiting their first win this season and if they do drop down to the Championship again, Davis might be available.

It’s been claimed previously that £20 million is the sum that Davis is valued at and given his credentials that doesn’t feel overly expensive.

Forest have moved on a little bit though these days.

Alex Moreno has been class on loan from Aston Villa and it feels almost certain that Forest will be trying to sign him permanently in the summer.
